Handel & Bach today @ Pro Cathedral, Bloomsday Breakfast in Ranelagh, Jazz at Ranelagh Arts

Good morning folks

Wishing you a sunny, peaceful Sunday morning !

If you're around town later, do stop by the Pro Cathedral for this at 3pm
Thanks to conductor Blanaid Murphy, for in every programme she selects for Dublin Bach Singers, there's a piece of music that takes me completely by surprise and that I absolutely love. This time it's Handel's Dixit Dominus. He wrote it when he was only 21 and I tell you, he couldn't have fit more MUSIC or more JOY into it ... it's the most joyful uplifting thing... If you can't come today, do yourself a favour and listen to this ..Dixit Dominus

Next weekend has Bloomsday ... and if you find your cupboard unusually bare of 'grilled mutton kidneys' ... then do pop along to Ranelagh Arts Centre for Bloomsday Breakfast 9-11am for food, music by me and Johnny Taylor, and readings. Info: 015477775

Bettencourt Productions monthly literary cabaret at Buswell's Hotel, Sunday 17 June. I'm delighted to be singing at this very fun event with bassist Dave Fleming .. more info here : All Things Joyce Literary Cabaret

And, finally, Jazz at Ranelagh Arts returns Sunday, June 24 at the slightly later time of 7pm. 3 years ago, I was invited to sing on debut album by ON /Off duo, Mark Flynn and Peter Moc. Anyway ... they sound beautiful and have written some lovely songs .. so I thought it would be lovely to have them come do a Sunday set in Ranelagh Arts. And I have great plans for getting all hip to things and organising a mail chimp newsletter which will make the unsubscribing a one click job, but in the meantime, if you no longer wish to be on the list, just let me know.

We had a great concert in the NCH on May 4 - some videos coming soon from that. Thank you for supporting me and my musicians !

Best wishes,

Emilie
